The five-minute fitment check

Year and model are a start. Engine, configuration and the full part number finish the job.

Write down the vehicle year, make, model and engine before shopping. Add any relevant trim, body or production details requested by the manufacturer. A model badge alone is not enough to select an engine-specific part.

Open the manufacturer page and find the exact application. Our vehicle list covers a small set of documented combinations. An item without a match is unverified, not a confirmed fit and not necessarily incompatible.

Compare the full part number on the retailer listing with the manufacturer record. Check the package quantity and any application notes. A retailer search can return nearby part numbers, multi-packs and alternatives, so it is a discovery step rather than a verified offer.

For oil filters, similar dimensions do not establish interchangeability. The XG7317 shown here uses an M20 × 1.5 thread; the XG4967 uses 3/4-16. Use the current application catalog and the vehicle service instructions, including the specified maintenance interval.
