Maintenance essentials

Two air filters. Two different jobs.

Separate the engine intake from the cabin ventilation system, then choose a service approach.

The engine air filter sits in the intake air box. The cabin filter serves the passenger ventilation system. They are different parts, even when a retailer groups both under air filters. Start by identifying which system you are servicing.

For the 2015 Accord 2.4L, the FRAM application pages identify CA11476 as an engine filter and CF10134 as a cabin filter. Those numbers are not substitutes for one another. Confirm the application again if the engine or vehicle differs.

A reusable filter introduces a maintenance routine. The K&N 33-2385 uses oiled cotton gauze, while VF2001 uses non-woven synthetic cabin-filter media. Follow the care method for the exact product rather than assuming all washable filters use the same cleaner or treatment.

Check the existing housing, sealing edge and airflow markings against the instructions before installing the replacement. Follow the vehicle maker’s service schedule and the part manufacturer’s installation guidance instead of a generic mileage promise.
