A filter shopping list for the 2018 F-150 5.0L

Compare documented FRAM, WIX and K&N choices for three different maintenance jobs on the 5.0L gas truck.

Research the article’s vehicle

These are the explicit configurations discussed here. Open a documented shortlist for one of these selections.

2018 Ford F-150 · 5.0L gas

Start with the truck’s engine, not just the F-150 badge. This list follows manufacturer entries for the 2018 F-150 with the 5.0L gas engine. It is a way to organize purchases for that configuration, not a complete maintenance schedule or a recommendation to replace every filter at once.

Oil filter: compare independently documented choices

FRAM XG10575 and WIX 57502 each have their own manufacturer application entry for this truck. FRAM lists a 4.060-inch height and M22 × 1.5 mounting thread; WIX lists a 104 mm height, M22 × 1.5 thread and enhanced-cellulose media. The measurements help distinguish the records. They do not establish equal filtration performance or replace the application check.

Choose the exact filter after checking the current application and service requirements. This shortlist does not establish an oil grade, fill quantity or longer service interval, and a filter’s product-line name is not a reason to extend the truck’s maintenance schedule.

Engine air: decide how you want to maintain the media

FRAM CA10262 lists cellulose media, and WIX 49883 lists enhanced cellulose. K&N 33-2385 is washable oiled cotton. The practical decision is whether you want a replacement element or the specific cleaning and re-oiling routine of the reusable option. Compare that future upkeep alongside the purchase, without assuming one media label is a performance ranking.

All of these are researched as replacement-filter applications. Confirm the factory air box remains installed; a modified intake may require a different filter despite the same year and engine.

Cabin air: keep this purchase separate

FRAM CF12150, WIX WP10266 and K&N VF2049 are documented cabin-filter candidates for this selection. WIX describes particulate media; K&N identifies VF2049 as washable. Compare the exact media, dimensions and care method. Do not transfer the oiling routine of the engine filter to the cabin filter.

Build a job-specific shortlist

Save one or more alternatives for each job, keeping the complete part number. WIX evidence comes from its public legacy lookup and does not establish current production or availability. Recheck each manufacturer entry and the seller’s exact package before ordering. Record the installed number, date and mileage for the next maintenance decision.
