Oil filters: match the application and housing before comparing
Resolve the exact engine and filter form, then compare documented candidates without inferring an oil grade or service interval.
A year and engine may still leave a housing question
The supported 2018 Corolla 1.8L gas entries are deliberately split by oil-filter housing. K&N HP-1003 and SO-1003 are the documented spin-on candidates; HP-7056 is the cartridge candidate. Confirm which housing the car has through its service information and current manufacturer lookup before choosing a selector entry.
A matching thread, similar diameter or shared vehicle badge cannot establish an application. Keep the exact year, model, engine and any housing restriction with the product number throughout the comparison.
Compare alternatives with their own manufacturer evidence
For the supported 2018 F-150 5.0L gas selection, FRAM XG10575 and WIX 57502 provide separately documented choices. Read each product’s specifications and application reference. Similar measurements do not establish identical media, performance or service life.
FRAM XG7317 documents the supported 2015 Civic 1.8L gas and Accord 2.4L gas selections in its own table. That shared oil-filter number does not make their engine-air filters interchangeable. WIX applications in this catalog were researched in its public legacy lookup; check current manufacturer guidance and availability before buying.
Keep the oil and service decisions separate
An oil-filter application does not establish the engine’s oil viscosity, required approvals, fill quantity or maintenance interval. Use the vehicle’s service requirements for those decisions. A premium or long-life filter name alone is not evidence that the interval can be extended.
Use retailer links to research the exact model and inspect the final seller listing. Confirm the part number and package contents there; AutoFixed does not receive live stock or price information from these searches.
